Filling in the Map -Trips 69 - 77

 These trips were focused more in filling in certain details of the map as opposed to extending its area. I explored the area between Haven and Kedusriver. I also mapped more of the region between Haven, Hanamura, Odonhull, and my tree farm.

 

I mapped a road leading to my Canal House project and around the sea it is located on.

Finally, I mapped to the north of Gernika.

My current map expansion plans are to reasonably fill in what I consider the central area of the world map before moving on to map the outer cities. The central area being from -10k, -10k to 10k, 10k. I'm going to have at least one route through every 1000 x 1000 block of my map. For now, that means I'm going to be mapping on the western side of the map for a while. On my most recent trips, I mapped the area between Meistrite Linn, Phoenix Rising, Viskasteel, and the area west of Viskasteel. Efficient Mining in Luanti

I'm writing this to explain how I mine efficiently, and also because I don't see much talk about this method. By "efficient mining" I mean a pattern of mining that results in the most ore extraction in a given volume of rock with as little removal of rock as practicable. In other words, what is the minimum amount of rock that can be removed to gain access to all of the ores? Below is a grid view from the side that shows a pattern of mining that accomplishes the task of exposing all blocks in a given area. The view is from the side looking into the tunnels. The tunnels are 1x2 and can be of any length. They are spaced every fourth block horizontally.  Every two blocks down vertically, the tunnels are offset horizontally by two blocks. This pattern can go on indefinitely in all directions. As long as it is maintained it will expose every block for mining without stripping out all of the rock. The Great Voyage - Trips 67-68, and the Wandertag Rangefinder

 Sailing is perhaps my favorite form of travel in Your Land. So in my travels I have had a keen eye on what is the biggest sea. The biggest found by far connects Greenborough, Citadelle, Tenebris, Kedusriver, and Monsabor. From North to South it spans more than 6 km.  So, I decided to take a journey down its length starting in Greenborough. At this time I was also experimenting with recording video as a way to map without having to take screenshots. It's been an enjoyable method because I get to focus more on enjoying the game while mapping. Wandertag Rangefinder I've been enjoying the Wandertag destinations. It's fun to get a compass from Amanda and with no other information go track the location down. One of the challenges is in figuring out which is the nearest major city to travel to in order to cut down on the travel time.
